Turbulence

This entire series begins each drawing by hand, from the center outward, in one continuous line from start to finish. Then highlights are added in thin transparent brushstrokes that take days to build up smooth transitions. It took several years of practice to train on maintaining the constant flow of each design. Not only the result, but the meditative process is a crucial part of this art piece. It is meant to evoke an atmosphere of calm focus that was present at its inception. Feedback provided by random spectators who have seen the work in person, suggests that the attempt to bottle meditation in a series of precise visual harmonics is every bit as successful as an audible selection of Tibetan singing bowls.
